EXPERIENCE
I have my fully insured training practice in West Los Angeles. I am a certified Lifestyle and Weight
Management Coach by the American Council on Exercise (ACE) and a
certified Personal Trainer by the National Academy of Sports
Medicine (NASM). I have been training in the Los Angeles
area since 1999. I began my career at a small studio
in
Santa Monica where I started and refined my cardio coaching
techniques. This led to other opportunities at a large upscale
Santa Monica club where I was a lead trainer and the co-founder of a
personal trainer mentoring program. I expanded
my services to include assessing human movement and helping people to
correct muscle imbalances to move more efficiently. It was also
then
that I started my studies in functional anatomy and continued my
practice with weight training, cardio coaching, and program adherence
strategies. I am the author of a nutrition workbook, as nourishing the body
correctly plays a critical role in achieving any type of health or
fitness goal. I also incorporate mat Pilates and yoga basics
to
enhance the mind-body connection. On a personal note, I have completed
3 marathons and 2 half century bike rides. I am very active with
community events and also enjoy skating, dancing, and hiking.
PERSONAL PHILOSOPHY
I am a highly organized, thorough, and very passionate trainer.
I continue my education by attending classes, seminars and
research. One of my newer clients told me that she chose me
because she could
tell that I train "with my
heart". I feel this is true because I want each client to feel
that they are being taken care of and listened to. Every client gets a very unique program and
strategy. I spend a lot of time up front with each client to
develop a health and fitness game plan to
be worked into their life. I can show someone all the great
aspects of exercise, but if a plan is not in place, we are both wasting
our time. I don't believe everyone should be a size 4 and that
you can't ever have a cookie again. I just believe that people
should have knowledge about some of the body's basic principals
that it functions on before starting an exercise and nutrition
plan.
